Crumpled Paper Fun!

Today I spent a good portion of the afternoon playing with tissue paper. Lately I'm in love with crumpling paper to make instant sculptures, I love the warmth of them, and how they move. I've covered the wall next to my desk with them.

Gustaf tells me that they're mathematically interesting because they are are two dimensional object that begins to interact with space as if it were three dimensional, he said they are sort of like fractals. I think they are maybe a metaphor for metaphor.... by bringing particular parts of the paper's geography closer to other parts, a more complex, dimensional idea begins to emerge and take shape.
