I know you said that it's all still in progress but for what it's worth at first glance i like the second version the best where the gears are less visible. It means i focus more on the interaction of the pieces and less on the interaction of the gears. I guess it depends on what look you want in the end. Just some food for thought. keep up the good work!Matthew Stevensonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10947620636690372620noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1552197981845427155.post-43973635711303884442013-04-18T19:43:29.100+01:002013-04-18T19:43:29.100+01:00I know you often don't like shiny glass, but i...I know you often don't like shiny glass, but i seem to remember you often liking shiny things in general. guess you just had to find the right kind a shiny!

I really like these pieces. when i first looked at them in the image i couldn't make sense of the pattern but the shapes and colours, especially with the dark glass in the bright silver frames was really captivating. After looking more closely the shape of first the bottom piece and then eventually the top one became clear and I like them even better now. The top one with the eye feels very haunting and intense but not overly so (I also like how for me depending on whether i'm looking at the dark or the light pattern it looks like either a face(dark) or flames(light)) . The bottom one is more intuiging and leaves me a little curious as to what's going on behind the mouth. I can't read the emotion, but I'm left feeling like i want to and wondering...which is fun.

loved this picture! keep up the good work!Matthew Stevensonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10947620636690372620noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1552197981845427155.post-81362938889212186852013-04-16T21:20:41.650+01:002013-04-16T21:20:41.650+01:00I love the way that the bee plates have developed....I love the way that the bee plates have developed. they look so much better with the lighting and frames like in the last picture. the almost yellowish colour of the lights, in contrast with the white of the glass gives a nice idea of the chaotic and stressful sentiment that a head full of bees indicates.

I've really liked the idea behind this piece and have been waiting for a more finished picture to see the idea start coming alive. nice work on this one.

glad i logged on to the internet at the airport so that i could see it.

keep up the good work!Matthew Stevensonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10947620636690372620noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1552197981845427155.post-74577998008492802502013-02-13T08:52:13.708+00:002013-02-13T08:52:13.708+00:00Thanks Matth!
