I was speaking with Geoff about the bowls that I'm using to hold the camera obscura... they're found, so not purpose built... We spoke about having them raised or spun, so I took myself down to the jewellery studio to see if I could get some help. The person who might have been able to help with spinning was away, and my friend laughed at me a little when I asked if I might be able to collaborate with someone who liked raising. She said that no one would want to help me because it was too annoyingly time consuming, but that she would show me how.... so I spent some time hammering a sheet of copper into a bowl, five hours for a 3.75in circle. Now I know why she laughed at me.
